We are thrilled to share that Moontown artist Paige Lewis has her song "When I Get to Texas" featured in Route 66: The Main Street of America, the feature-length centennial documentary directed by award-winning filmmaker John Paget.

The film travels all 2,400 miles of the Mother Road, from Chicago to the Pacific, telling the stories of the towns and everyday people who keep it alive — a heartfelt portrait released for the highway's 100th anniversary. It began its rolling national roadshow on September 1 in Chicago and continues screening across all eight Route 66 states.

A road song from a Texas artist, in a film about the most famous road in America — it is hard to imagine a better fit. Paige owns her work, and this is exactly the kind of placement Moontown Sounds exists to make: independent artists, put in front of the people making licensing decisions, on terms that keep the artist in the driver's seat.

Next screening: the roadshow rolls into Austin on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at AFS Cinema, with a live Q&A with director John Paget. Tickets and details here. More dates across all eight Route 66 states are at mainstreetofamerica.com — if you are anywhere near the route, go see it on a big screen.

Congratulations, Paige.
